Vehicle and aircraft tyres can have reinforced belts, metals and high proportion of nylons and fibres in them.

EcoScape® uses rubber from tyres with no metal at the point of source.

Some processes produce sharpe angular chipings embedded with fibres.

EcoScape® shreds are elongated and are less likely to be swallowed. If they are swallowed, they have been ingestion tested and are classified as toy safe.

Rubber chippings can appear to cost less but actually you need to buy an extra 65% more product to cover the same area (2 cubic metres per ton).

EcoScape rubber Mulch loose shreds cover 3.3 cubic metres per ton so you need to buy less per mt2 at the same depth.
